Novelization of the movie The Wolf Man (1941), directed by George Waggner, screenplay by Curt Siodmak.
The book is the last (out of six) in the Universal Horror Library (UK editions as The Classic Library of Horror), which was published 1977 / 1978 under the pen name Carl Dreadstone, each including an introduction by Ramsey Campbell.
Three books, including The Wolfman, were written by Mr. Campbell himself, two by Walter Harris, only the identity of the third author remains unsolved.
Three of the novels (one of them The Wolfman) were reissued in 1980, omitting Campbells introductions and using the pen name E. K. Leyton instead of Carl Dreadstone.
