Das Kunstwerk im Zeitalter seiner technischen Reproduzierbarkeit (English: The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction), by Walter Benjamin, is an essay of cultural criticism which proposes that the aura of a work of art is devalued by mechanical reproduction.
It was first published in excerpts as "L’œuvre d’art à l’époque de sa reproduction mécanisée" in: Zeitschrift für Sozialforschung, Vol. 5, 1936. The final German version first appeared in Volume I of Benjamin's "Schriften" (Suhrkamp 1955).
