"The Witness for the Prosecution" is a short story by Agatha Christie, first published under the title "Traitor's Hands" in Flynn's, 31 January 1925. In 1933, the story was published for the first time as "Witness for the Prosecution" in the collection The Hound of Death and Other Stories (1933), and also in The Witness for the Prosecution and Other Stories (1948).
Agatha Christie adapted the short story into a play titled The Witness of the Prosecution which premiered on 28 October 1953.
