A Devil in Paradise tells the story of when Henry Miller was visited by an old friend from Paris, the French astrologer Conrad Moricand, in 1947, first published by New Directions in 1956. A year later Miller used this story as the third part of his memoir Big Sur and The Oranges of Hieronymus Bosch with the title "Paradise Lost."
