| Notes | The Mystery of the Cranky Collector is a children's novel by M. V. Carey, and the forty-third book in The Three Investigators series. This was the last book published in the series, however M. V. Carey and editor Eugenia Fanelli were working on a story titled The Mystery of the Ghost Train when the series was canceled in 1987. The manuscript is in the possession of the Carey family. The "working" title on the manuscript is The Mystery of the Counterfeit Train Crash. |
