The Teachings of Don Juan: A Yaqui Way of Knowledge by Carlos Castaneda and published by the University of California Press in 1968 as a work of anthropology, though many critics contend that it is a work of fiction. It was submitted as his Master's thesis in the school of Anthropology. It is the first book in The Teachings of Don Juan series.
