NotesAvakoum Zakhov vs 07 (Bulgarian: Срещу 07) is an espionage novel by the Bulgarian author Andrei Gulyashki first published in 1966 and translated into English in 1967 (Sydney, Australia: Scripts. Paperback. 1967). It is the sixth novel in Gulyashki's Avakoum Zakhov-series Avakoum Zakhov vs 07 was written after the death of James Bond creator Ian Fleming and before the first official James Bond continuation novel Colonel Sun had been published. To fill the gap, apparently Gulyashki approached Glidrose and announced that he had written a new James Bond novel, but Glidrose weren’t interested. Nevertheless, Gulyashki decided to publish his book anyway, and when it became known to Glidrose, they banned Gulyaski from using either the number 007 or the name James Bond. As a result, the name of british agent was removed and the number shortened to 07.
