Gateway is a science fiction novel by Frederik Pohl, first serialized in three parts in Galaxy, November, December 1976 and March 1977. It was published in book form in April 1977. A short concluding chapter that was cut from the book publication, was later published in Galaxy, August 1977.
It is the opening novel in the Heechee series.
