The original manuscript is in German (the first page has “Lili Elbe Buch von Niels Hoyer”), but it was first published as a Danish translation in 1931. In 1932, a German edit of the manuscript was published under the title Ein Mensch wechselt sein Geschlecht: eine Lebensbeichte. The first English edition, with the title Man into Woman: An Authentic Record of a Change of Sex, was published in 1933 (in London by Jarrolds, and in New York by E.P. Dutton).
