Andre Norton

Andre Alice Norton (born Alice Mary Norton) was an American writer of science fiction and fantasy, who also wrote works of historical fiction and contemporary fiction. She published her first novel in 1934, and was honored with the SFWA Grand Master Award in 1984, the World Fantasy Award for lifetime achievement in 1998, and was inducted into the Science Fiction Hall of Fame in 1997.
