Eyre & Spottiswoode
Eyre & Spottiswoode was a London-based printing firm that was the King's Printer, it later became a publisher as well. It became part of Associated Book Publishers and merged with Methuen Publishing in the 1970s. For the later incorporated companies please use Eyre & Spottiswoode Limited & Eyre & Spottiswoode (Publishers) Ltd. NB. Wikipedia originally stated it began publishing in April 1929, this referred to Eyre & Spottiswoode (Publishers) Ltd. as Eyre and Spottiswoode were credited as 'publisher' in 1891 (see images). I have since amended Wiki.
