Heinz Guderian

Heinz Wilhelm Guderian (17 June 1888 - 14 May 1954) was a German general during the Nazi era. An early pioneer and advocate of the "blitzkrieg" (lightning war) doctrine, he successfully led Panzer (armoured) units during the Invasion of Poland, the Battle of France (including the Low Countries), and Operation Barbarossa, the invasion of the Soviet Union.
