A Gentleman of Elvas
A Gentleman of Elvas was a Portuguese pseudonymous author of an early American exploration treatise of the 1550s. He was a member of Hernando de Soto's expedition whose identity is unknown. He joined Soto from the town of Elvas, Portugal, which lies on the border of Spain.
