Ardis Publishing Company

Founded in 1971 as Ardis Publishers by Carl R. Proffer and his wife Ellendea C. Proffer as the only publishing house outside of Russia dedicated to Russian literature in both English and Russian. Best known for their indispensable Anthologies and translating previously unavailable Russian works into English. Ardis Publishers was purchased by The Overlook Press in 2002 and is now and imprint of that company.
