George Henry Johnston, OBE was an Australian journalist, war correspondent and novelist. Husband of writer Charmian Clift and father of poet Martin Johnston. He won the Miles Franklin Award twice: in 1964 for My Brother Jack (1964), and in 1969 for Clean Straw for Nothing (1969).
