Terence Spencer

Squadron Leader Terence "Terry" Spencer DFC was a World War II Royal Air Force fighter pilot, and later a war photographer for Life magazine which he started in 1952. He worked on the African continent including Sharpeville and the Congo revolution. He went on to cover stories the Vietnam war, various crises in the Middle East, Indonesia – and Cuba after The Bay of Pigs. In 1963 he returned to England to photograph ‘Swinging London’.
