Mara Favoretto

Mara Favoretto is an argentinean investigator who completed a MA in Argentina at Universidad del Salvador and a PhD at the University of Melbourne. She has taught a range of subjects in Spanish and Latin American Studies, at the School of Languages and Linguistics, Faculty of Arts at The University of Melbourne since 2006. She is currently a Senior Lecturer in Latin American Studies. Her field of research comprises popular music studies with a special interest in Argentine rock song lyrics. She is the author of "Charly en el país de las alegorías" (2014), "Alegoría e ironía bajo censura en la Argentina del Proceso" (2010) and numerous journal articles and book chapters on the intersections between power, politics and popular music in Argentina.
