Sasha Sokolov (Russian: Саша Соколов) is a Canadian Russian writer. He is the son of a Russian military attaché who was deported from Canada in relation to spying activity. His family returned to the Soviet Union in 1946, however Sokolov did not fit into the Soviet system. He made several attempts to flee from Soviet Union, finally leaving in 1975 and settling in the United States.
