Karl French is a UK based writer and journalist specialising in cinema and popular culture. He writes a regular column for the Financial Times and contributes articles to national newspapers and magazines, including The Observer, The Guardian, Hotdog and Esquire. He has edited several books, including The Marx Brothers and Screen Violence and is the author of Apocalypse Now, Cult Movies and This is Spinal Tap, The Official Companion.
He worked as a reader, editor and writer for Bloomsbury Publishing (1994-1998).
