founded on 3 April 1918 by the Reverend Robert Hyde as the Boys’ Welfare Association. Name changed in 1919 to the Industrial Welfare Society, shortened in 1965 to The Industrial Society. Training division sold to Capita in 2001 and renamed The Work Foundation in 2002. wikipedia
