Paul Foote
Paul Foote (born 14 July 1926 - died 1 March 2011) was an English academic and translator. He served as a University lecturer in Russian, and a fellow of The Queen’s College, Oxford. He is known for his translations of Lermontov, the first English language translation of Saltykov-Shchedrin's surviving work, and for his scholarship related to censorship in tsarist Russia.
