Canray Fontenot

Canray Fontenot was an American Creole fiddle player. Cousin of Freeman Fontenot. * His birth date varies by source: October 16, 1918; October 16, 1922; or October 23, 1922. His place of birth is stated as either l'Anse aux Vaches or l'Anse des Rougeaux, both in Louisiana. A New York Times obituary column dated August 2, 1995 records his age when he passed away as 72.
