Marcel Pagnol

Marcel Pagnol (born February 28, 1895, Aubagne, Bouches-du-Rhône, France - died April 18, 1974, Paris, France) was a French novelist, playwright, and filmmaker. In 1946, he was elected to the French Academy. He wrote the series Souvenirs d'enfance, L'eau des Collines, the Trilogie Marseillaise, and other stories such as Topaze, La Femme du Boulanger, Catulle and Le Schpountz.
