Sword Art Online Progressive

Sword Art Online Progressive is a reboot of the original Sword Art Online series of light novels, written by Reki Kawahara and illustrated by abec. Progressive tells about the early days of Aincrad, picking up directly after the final short story contained in volume eight of the original series. Progressive began when the Sword Art Online anime began production. Kawahara was requested to write a short story about the clearing of the first floor of Aincrad. Upon finishing this, he was inspired to write a story for the second floor, and when he was offered a chance to publish these he began the series.
