Nine Inch Nails

Nine Inch Nails (abbreviated as NIN and stylized as NIИ) is an American industrial rock band formed by Trent Reznor. The bands' name was taken from a review about the band Pailhead that was in the WaxTrax! catalog: "Pailhead is a sonic wonder that could bite the heads off nine inch nails." Utilizing off-hour sessions, Reznor recorded and released the band's debut album, the synth-pop oriented Pretty Hate Machine (1989), under TVT Records to minor success.
