Golden Press was an imprint of Western Publishing Company, Inc. Established in the early 1940s as the "Whitman Famous Classics" the name was later changed to Golden Press. Western Publishing Company was headquartered in Racine, Wisconsin, with offices in New York City, Los Angeles, and Poughkeepsie, New York.
