English punk fanzine that was first published in 1977 and lasted until 1984. Started in Croydon, it was written by Charlie Chainsaw - aided in a few issues by Kid Charlemagne (aka Hugh David) and cartoonists Willie D. (aka Andrew Marr, British political commentator and television presenter!) and Michael J. Weller. Mike Weller is also well known for his work for Oz and Cozmic Comics in the early 1970's. Chainsaw came out on a totally irregular basis. Some later issues included a free flexidisc which appeared on the fanzines own label, Meat Records!
Editor Charlie Chainsaw is still active in the London punk scene - running Wrench Records label and mailorder since 1988, and has been in Rancid Hell Spawn from 1988 to the present day. Michael J. Weller is still drawing comics.
