David Keeps

American writer, editor and producer for advertising, broadcast, digital and ink-on-paper. Specialties: pets, popular culture, fine arts, travel, architecture and design, fashion and lifestyle. Originally based in Michigan in the 1970s, where he had managed the band Destroy All Monsters. In the late 1970s and early 1980s he did freelance work for various publications including the NME and Village Voice. From 1984-1988 he was editor of the Star Hits, the US version of UK magazine Smash Hits (they couldn't use the same title as it had already been taken). He went on to work for Conde Nast (1990-2000), LA Times (2003-2015), Ovation TV (since 2006), House Beautiful, World of Wonder, PetSmart as well as freelance writing and editing.
