He was previously Associate Editor for Classic Car Weekly with Bauer Media, having worked as Sub Editor for Model Rail, RAIL & Steam Railway magazines. In the past he has worked for the South East London Mercury, Record Mirror, Sounds, EMI Harvest Records, Charisma Records, Anglia News, Avon News, Music Mart, Peterborough & Cambridgeshire Business, Steam Railway & Steam World, British Railway Modelling & Traction. Co-author of Boney M (Hamylyn paperback), author of The Usborne Guide to Model Railways, UK Punk Rock and a contributor to Secret Britain (AA Publications) and The Encyclopedia of Trains and Locomotives, plus contributions to many periodicals from Smash Hits to The World of Trains.
From 1992-2009 Brown was Managing Editor of British Railway Modelling and Traction magazines plus associated publicatons (Warner Group Publications).
