British publisher that, prior to 1976, was known as <a href="/c/books/credit/23021/george-allen-unwin-ltd/">George Allen & Unwin Ltd.</a>. The firm was amalgamated in 1986 with Bell & Hyman to form <a href="/c/books/credit/19154/unwin-hyman-ltd/">Unwin Hyman Ltd.</a> As of 2020 the name George Allen & Unwin (Publishers) Ltd. is still active on the Companies House website, but is a "non-trading" company.
