Specialist collection of images from history, architecture, art, history of science and world exploration. It covers the pre-historical period through to the Middle Ages, the Renaissance and into the Nineteenth and Twentieth Centuries. Founded by Michael Holford in the 1960s, the library contains a collection of photographs used by book publishers in the UK, Europe, North America and Australasia.
