The Dana Girls Mystery Stories

Young adult mystery story series by Carolyn Keene, originally published in two sets by Grosset & Dunlap from 1934 to 1979. The first set consists of 30 titles published between 1934 and 1968. The first grouping (1 to 13) were published from 1934 to 1944. In the early and mid 1930s the books had stylized, lavender art deco dust jackets, which were changed to turquoise ones in the late 1930s. In 1944 the series was discontinued. In 1949 the series went back to print. First the original 13 titles were reprinted with new, illustrated dust jackets, and in 1952 the series was continued with new titles. In 1962, the books were changed to picture cover format, but with the same artwork. The second set consists of 17 titles published between 1972 and 1979 with new artwork. The first 13 titles of the second set were revised and renumbered versions of stories from the first set. The last four titles were new to the series. First series (1934-1968): 1.
