Ira Robbins

Founder, with Dave Schulps and Karen Rose, of US music magazine Trouser Press in New York in 1974. The magazine was originally called Trans-Oceanic Trouser Press. It closed in 1984 but lives on at www.trouserpress.com and the publishing company Trouser Press Books. Robbins' first published piece of music criticism was in Good Times in 1972. He continued by writing album and concert reviews for Zoo World, then Circus, Crawdaddy (Feature), The Music Gig, Creem and, later still, Spin, Entertainment Weekly, The New York Times, New York Post, Tower Pulse and numerous other periodicals. Robbins later worked as software editor at Video Magazine and pop music editor and critic at Newsday.
