The Thing

"The Thing" is a 1982 Science Fiction / Horror film, directed by <a href="/c/books/credit/180305/john-carpenter/">John Carpenter</a>. <a href="/c/books/credit/440232/bill-lancaster/">Bill Lancaster</a> wrote the screenplay on the basis of the novella <a href="/c/books/book/404781/who-goes-there/">Who goes there?</a> by <a href="/c/books/credit/64084/john-w-campbell-jr/">John W. Campbell, Jr.</a>, which was previously made into a movie in 1951 as "The Thing from another World". Lancaster's screenplay was adapted into a <a href="/c/books/book/440233/the-thing/">novel</a> by <a href="/c/books/credit/44205/alan-dean-foster/">Alan Dean Foster</a>. In 2011, Matthijs van Heijningen Jr. directed a non-stop prequel movie, also titled "The Thing".
