The Thing

"The Thing" is a 1982 Science Fiction / Horror film, directed by John Carpenter. Bill Lancaster wrote the screenplay on the basis of the novella Who goes there? by John W. Campbell, Jr., which was previously made into a movie in 1951 as "The Thing from another World". Lancaster's screenplay was adapted into a novel by Alan Dean Foster. In 2011, Matthijs van Heijningen Jr. directed a non-stop prequel movie, also titled "The Thing".
