Sue Records

Chris Blackwell started this UK branch of Sue Records Inc. (US) to license material by West Indian artists for release in the UK. Under the management of Guy Stevens, the label broke its agreement with the US company, and started signing and releasing R&B artists licensed from other labels, as well as some of its own signings. Most of its releases mentioned Island Records Ltd. as a distributor and had an Island's cat# scheme.
