The photography career of Andrew Kent began in the late 1960s when he worked for the Los Angeles Free Press. Music photography became his area of interest and his passion, along with political news and cultural events. Kent has been staff photographer for Capitol Records, Atlantic Records and A&M Records. He was also staff photographer for Creem, Circus, and Rock magazines. His work was also syndicated by Mirage. His main focus as a music photographer has been on live performances and tours. Andrew has photographed many major acts and his pictures have been distributed around the world. He has been published in many major magazines and newspapers including Rolling Stone, Playboy, Vanity Fair, Time, Newsweek, Uncut, Q and Mojo.
