South Ossetia

South Ossetia, officially the Republic of South Ossetia (also known as the State of Alania, or Tskhinvali Region), is an unrecognized State and disputed territory in the South Caucasus, in the central-northern part of the internationally recognised Georgian territory. It is recognized only by Russia, Venezuela and Nauru, as well as by other unrecognized States of Abkhazia, Transnistria and Nagorno-Karabagh.
