Thorn EMI

Thorn EMI was a British company, active in the business areas consumer electronics, music, defence and retail. It was a result of the merge of Thorn Electrical Industries and EMI-Group in 1979, the companies demerged in 1996. EMIs movie department (EMI-Film) was renamed to Thorn EMI Screen Entertainment in the early 80s; the whole branch (production, distribution, home entertainment and a cinema chain) was sold in April 1986.
