Új Magyar Lexikon

Új Magyar Lexikon (New Hungarian Encyclopaedia) is a 6+2 volume series created in the 1950s. The editing was completed in 1958 mainly with editorial work by Berei Andor. Volume 1 was published in 1959, the 6th in 1962. Sold around 500.000 copies. In 1972 and in 1981 additional volumes published. It has several unchanged repressions; nowadays it is already obsolete in terms of content and mindset, but it has been criticized in its own time because its shortcomings and inaccuracies.
