The origins of the Tipografia Luigi Ponzio date back to the end of the 19th century in Pavia in via Brolo, 7 (the current Via Mascheroni). In the early years of its activity, the founder is the author of historical publications that meet the approval, documented by exchanges of letters, by Giuseppe Garibaldi, Benedetto Cairoli and the Real Casa Savoia.
In 1917 his son Aldo took over and, after further expansion, moved the printing house and publishing house, first in Piazza della Posta and then in via A. Bordoni.
Towards the end of the 1940s the continuity of the Ponius Typography was guaranteed by his son Luigi, who was first in via Defendente Sacchi, with the addition of his son Aldo, now the fourth generation, and finally in Viale Montegrappa, 2 gave birth to a dimension of the company relying on premises of about 1,300 square meters. and equipment meeting the latest market needs.
