Thomas Verbogt
homas Verbogt (1952) debuted in 1981 with the collection of stories De Feestavond. Since then he has written many novels, story collections and plays. His audience also grew with his oeuvre. For a long time he was a much appreciated author, but still relatively unknown, but for a few years he has belonged to "the premier division of Dutch literature," says Pieter Steinz of NRC Handelsblad. Verbogt is especially praised for his melancholy and light tone and his cinematic way of telling. He also attracts many readers with his humorous short stories.
