Founded by Friedrich August Herbig (1794 - 1849) as "Verlag von Friedrich August Herbig". Acquired pocket book publisher Non Stop-Bücherei in 1951, which remained in use as an imprint until the mid-70s. Moved to Munich in 1966 and became an imprint of F. A. Herbig Verlagsbuchhandlung GmbH, credited as Herbig. Sometimes credited as Herbig Verlagsbuchhandlung
