He went freelance (1997-2007) writing for a variety of publications including The Times, Financial Times, Daily Mail, Daily Express, The Lawyer, Legal Week, Commercial Lawyer. He also wrote for various Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer staff publications and the music magazine Mojo.
