Attilio Zanchi

Zanchi attended jazz classes with Giorgio Gaslini at the Conservatorio di Milano. In 1979 he became a member of the Open Form Trio with Piero Bassini and Giampiero Prina, with whom he worked together for several years. From 1980 he studied at the University of Fine Arts in Banff and the Creative Music Studio in Woodstock, where he completed his bass education with Dave Holland. He came here starring Karl Berger, George Lewis, Sam Rivers, Jimmy Giuffre, Ed Blackwell, Lee Konitz, Kenny Wheeler, Jack DeJohnette, and John Abercrombie.
