Wapassou
Wapassou was a symphonic / progressive rock band from Strasbourg, France, formed in 1972. Their obscure eponymous debut LP was more psychedelic flavoured, akin to Catharsis. After that they made a trilogy of albums, all involving long complex suites with guitar, violin, keyboards and female voice, exploring a mystical, classical hybrid all of their own, especially unusual for the lack of percussion. Subsequent albums into the 1980s were different again, blending pop and modern neo-prog styles. The group disbanded in 1986.
