Munkácsy Mihály

Munkácsy Mihály was a Hungarian painter. He earned international reputation with his genre pictures and large-scale biblical paintings. Neither 19th century visual art nor the historical developments of Hungarian art can be discussed without considering Munkácsy's contributions. His works are considered the apogee of national painting.
