Gilberto de la Porrée
Gilberto Porretano or Gilbert de la Porrée (Poitiers, 1070 - 4 September 1154) was a logical, theologian and French Catholic bishop. He studied first at Poitiers, then at Chartres under Bernardo of Chartres and at Laon with Anselm of Laon; he taught for twenty years in Chartres, where he was also chancellor, to be from 1137 a dialectic and theology reader in Paris. In 1141 he returned to Poitiers, where he was bishop the following year.
