Pontius Pilate
Pontius Pilate (Latin: Pontius Pīlātus ; Greek: Πόντιος Πιλάτος) was the fifth prefect of the Roman province of Judaea, serving under Emperor Tiberius from AD 26/27 to 36/37. In Christian tradition, he is known for adjudicating on the trial and crucifixion of Jesus.
