Sir John George Woodroffe (born 15 December 1865 – died 18 January 1936), also known by his pseudonym Arthur Avalon, was a British Orientalist, lawyer, and jurist. His work fostered interest, as well as providing a deeper understanding of Hindu philosophy and Yogic practices in the West.
