The Carracci were three Bolognese relatives, Hannibal (1560-1609) and Agostino (1557-1602) were brothers, while Ludovico (1555-1619) was their cousin, came from a family of the local bourgeoisie and dedicated themselves to painting forming in urban environment that in the years of their youth was dominated by the artists of the late local Mannerist tradition such as: Domenico Tibaldi, Prospero Fontana and Bartolomeo Passarotti
